From farmers markets to vintage fashion, the Gold Coast boasts a great market scene. This month on our blog we’ve been looking at some of the great markets in our city, here we will re-cap on some of our favourites and let you in on a few other local gems too.
The Village Markets
Where: Burleigh Heads State School oval, Lower Gold Coast Highway, Burleigh Heads
When:1st and 3rd Sunday of each month, 8:30am to 1pm
Looking for a Sunday morning packed with good vibes, live local music, great food and an impressive line-up of market stalls? The Village Markets, also known to locals as TVM, is the place to be and be seen. Hit up this hip event for great fashion from local and emerging designers, vintage clothing, up-cycled and handcrafted furniture, delicious street eats and much more.
Palm Beach Ave Markets – Pop Up Market
Where: Anglican Church Car Park, 69 Palm Beach Ave, Palm Beach
When: 3rd Saturday of each month, 7am to Noon
Homewares, vintage, arts and crafts, nursery, home-made treats, coffee van … and much more.
Chinatown Street Markets
Where: Chinatown, Young and Davenport Streets, Southport, Gold Coast
When: 1st Saturday of each month, 4pm to 8pm
Each month when the market rolls around something different is offered. Free films, popup bars multicultural events and of course the market itself. Head along and try a range of cuisines from across Asia.
Miami Marketta
Where: 23 Hillcrest Parade, Miami
When: Friday nights from 5pm to 10pm and Saturday nights from 4pm to 10pm
Enjoy the family orientated atmosphere of this great outdoor dining experience with seating for up to 450 people. Boasting international food stalls, a dessert hall, and a selection of boutique wines, locally brewed bars and smooth cocktails. Marketta Street Food also boasts a main stage hosting local blues, jazz, roots, and independent artists.
Bundall Farmers Markets
Where: The Arts Centre, 35 Bundall Road, Surfers Paradise
When: Every Sunday, 6am to 11:30am
Pick up fresh produce from over 80 stallholders, selling organic and conventional fresh fruit and vegetables, spreads, jams, pickles and jellies, meats, poultry, fish, artisan products, hand made skin creams, locally grown coffee, herbal teas, cheese, breads, baked goods and so much more! Free onsite parking.
Carrara Markets
Where: Corner Gooding Drive and Manchester Road, Carrara
When: Each Saturday and Sunday, 7am to 3pm
Visit Queensland’s biggest markets with 10acres of indoor and outdoor shopping. There’s plenty on offer with over 100 fashion outlets, jewellery, sunglasses, toys and collectables, essential services, books and music, souvenirs, pots – plants and flowers, homewares, arts, health and beauty, pet needs, novelty items, second hand bric a brac and more. You’ll also find 10 cafes onsite, fresh produce and other tasty treats. The kids aren’t forgotten with plenty of children’s entertainment from face painting and pony rides, to bungy trampolines, an indoor / outdoor mini golf course and a live reptile show!
